CALL FOR STAFF - RESIDENCY COORDINATOR 2020

Offsite/Before Residency: June 15 - Aug 6 , Casual (Approx 5 hours/week) 
Onsite/During Residency:  August 14-22, Full time (80 hours) 

Honorarium: 1,500$

Responsibilities: 

The Residency Coordinator position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the White Rabbit Residency from Aug 14-22 2020. They will be supported by The White Rabbit Programming Committee, other staff, and a series of on-site volunteers. 

In the months prior to the residency, The Residency Coordinator will help select the artists based on their applications with the selection committee. Once the artists have been chosen they will continue to communicate with them until and during the residency to answer questions, organize accommodation, transit, access needs, etc. 

In addition to facilitating the programming, the coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the volunteers and staff to make sure everything runs smoothly and that everyone feels supported. It is the coordinator’s job to address conflict when it arises and make sure each person involved is considered. The Residency Coordinator ensures that all groups throughout the site are communicating efficiently and working towards a common goal together. 

Tasks: 

Before Residency: 

  • Sit on selection committee to select Rabbits (Residency Artists) 
  • Collaborate with Site Coordinator to facilitate on site prep (arrive a few days prior to residency) 
  • Coordinate with Rabbits prior to residency (organize transit, collect info for social media, organize accommodation, health/dietary and access needs) 
  • Receive and manage residency payments 
  • Create a residency schedule 
  • Communicate with mentor artist(s) who will lead the Rabbits through workshops, artist talks, artistic guidance and support 

During Residency: 

  • Facilitate schedule including land tour, mentor workshops, Rabbit artist talks 
  • Organize and maintain functional studio space 
  • Facilitate clear communication and conflict resolution between residency volunteers, staff and artists 
  • Facilitate fire circles (daily check ins and peer support session) 
  • Make sure artists have platform and space to talk about their work
